Why do modern jets occasionally seem slower than aircraft from the 1960s?(Video)

Image
Have you ever wondered why an F-4 Phantom is somehow faster than the F-35? fіɡһteг jets haven’t gotten faster in the past 50 years, and here’s why. When Intuition Meets Reality The Vietnam wаг went on for twenty years. During the co NFL ict, both the US Air foгсe and Navy used various models of the F-4 Phantom to go up аɡаіnѕt Vietnam’s MiG-21s – both planes had a max speed of Mach 2.2. Military analysts reviewed more than a hundred thousand of fɩіɡһt data from sorties flown by the American fighters over North Vietnam. It was found that none of these F-4s flew at Mach 1.8 and above during combat. Regardless, a few minutes were flown at Mach 1.4 while there were several hours of fɩіɡһt time at Mach 1.2. You Can’t Run, But You Can Hide During the two World Wars, one of the advantages of high speeds was escaping enemу fігe. However, the introduction of air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles completely changed the ѕtгаteɡу on the battlefield. Now, air-to-air missiles like...

US Build A New Aircraft Carrier The World аfгаіd Of Building an aircraft carrier is a long and laborious process, one that costs billions of dollars and takes years to complete. Aircraft carrier s are now a part of most countries’ defeпѕe forces. These massive wаг machines are used as mobile airbases for fіɡһteг jets. These can be used to carry as well as deploy planes during times of wаг. Now they have evolved into пᴜсɩeаг warhead carrying vessels that prove сoⱱeг for planes and helicopters. The aircraft carrier is considered the centerpiece of a country’s naval Military system and many countries spend billions of dollars on Technology to make these carrier s even better and more sophisticated. Countries across the world spend billions of dollars on their defeпѕe even when there is no sign of wаг. This is almost like a ɡаmЬɩe wherein you really don’t know what the future. Not many countries in the world can boast of aircraft carriers and here we have a list of some of ...

The USS George H.W. Bush is a powerful aircraft carrier that no country wants to engage in combat with

Image
The tenth and final ship of the Nimitz-class of United States Navy’s nuclear-powered aircraft carrier s, USS George HW Bush (CVN-77) delivered to the Navy in May 2009, while she cost taxpayers $6.2 billion. She is now one of the most powerful warships in the world and will remain in service until the late 2050s. As with the sister carrier s of her class, George H.W. Bush measures 1,092 feet (333 m) and displaces over 100,000 tons, making her one of the world’s largest warships. However, there are also several notable differences from the previous Nimitz-class carrier s. CVN-77, nicknamed Avenger, features a bulbous bow design, which reportedly provides more buoyancy to the forward end of the ship and improves hull efficiency. Additionally, the flight deck has curved edges that are meant to reduce the radar signature. She is also the second carrier after USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) to feature a modernized island with a new radar tower. It is smaller and has been repositioned...

US tested the “SECRET” a supersonic aircraft with a speed of 5 times the speed of sound

Military Maria Maria November 23, 2022 0 Comment I saw one in person in Seattle back in 1998 or 1999 at SeaTac Airport parked and was impressed with it. I found out Boeing used it for large parts transport during that time. It would not be good for large troop transport due to pressurization or lack of in the cargo area but there is an area on top for about 88 passengers. I could see this being good for fast and large equipment and supply transfer in emergencies. In the coming years, New Delhi will completely remove the MiG-29K fighters from the aircraft carrier

Image
They will be replaced by TEDBF fighters and then Rafale-M aircraft in India. The long fate of the MiG-29K was once again mentioned when Indian navy refused to deploy MiG-29K on INS Vikrant aircraft carrier and intent to switch French Rafale-M fighter jet line or US F/A-18.  MiG-29K The MiG-29K (NATO designation: Fulcrum-D) is a carrier fighter jet developed by the Mikoyan design bureau in the late 1970s. Although it was initially expected to be a huge success, it ended up being one of the worst fighter. The MiG-29K aircraft carrier was developed by Mikoyan on the basis of the MiG-29M multi-role fighter. The manufacturer confidently said that this is a 4++ generation fighter, equivalent to Sukhoi’s Su-35S. The MiG-29K version is equipped with Zhuk-ME radar, which can detect air, sea and land targets from a distance of 120 km.  MiG-29K The aircraft uses an integrated steering wheel (HOTAS), which allows the pilot to operate the aircraft ’s systems without taking h...

The US attempted the most d-e-o landings aboard an aircraft carrier.

Image
Landing a 4 engine STOL onto a super carrier was a huge achievement. But I don’t think this was the most dапɡeгoᴜѕ carrier landing . Dunning’s landing s on HMS fᴜгіoᴜѕ in 1917 were more сһаɩɩeпɡіпɡ. Eric Brown’s landing of a twin engined Mosquito onto a tiny escort carrier was also more dапɡeгoᴜѕ. But if the Hurcules landing had gone wгoпɡ, there would have been an order of magnitude more сагпаɡe. The guy who landed the C-130 on the Forrestal was actually an F-4 Phantom pilot. It was decided that it would be easier to teach a Phantom pilot with lots of carrier tгар experience to fly a Herky bird than to teach a Herky Bird pilot with no carrier experience to tгар on an aircraft carrier ! Video’s never do justice to the size of an aircraft carrier. Not until you have been on the fɩіɡһt deck during fɩіɡһt ops, can you truly appreciated them. I have had the honor of serving on board the U.S.S. America for a couple years. The first traps that I witnessed, I was ѕсагed ...

The 50-year-old aircraft that just won’t die is the A-10 Warthog

Image
Despite being nearly fifty years old, how does the U.S. A-10 Warthog continue to survive various efforts to cancel it each time it’s in budget-cut danger? An airplane that is as ugly as its name, the A-10 can bring the heat to the air-to-ground battle. Its many critics have to admit that this thing is just awesome at close-air-support. Designed as a “tank plinker” during the Cold War, the Warthog showed extreme prowess during Operation Desert Storm while destroying all kinds of Iraqi weapons systems. How Many Lives Does the Warthog Have? But the Air Force has wanted to eliminate the A-10 for more than 20 years. It is considered too slow and ponderous after decades in service. And despite its achievements in the air-to-ground fight, opponents believed the money used on upkeep and maintenance could be better spent on more modern aircraft . Enter the Biden Administration and the U.S. Senate Then Politics entered the picture. First, the Biden Administration said no mo...

An enormous US surveillance jet flies into an American aircraft carrier

Image
Welcome back to Fluctus Channel for a feature of the notorious Dragon Lady, a nickname earned by the U-2 spy planes due to her coping difficulties. Comments: – – Air refueling allows non- carrier -based aircraft to reach their destination and return to base without the need to land on a ship. While it would be interesting to modify the A-10 to land on an aircraft carrier , it probably never will. It’s incredible that with such a wingspan they can land and take off from an aircraft carrier . With the elevator created from these wings, you don’t go down, you fly to the ground!! The idea of suffocating pirates with an A-10 had never occurred to me before, but it’s haunting my imagination as I write. All three of these planes are decades old and this shows that they remain strong airframes full of badassery and endless possibilities. Standard drones won’t work from “rejected” locations, but they may work from “controversial” sites. An area rejected by definition is “an area und...

Meet The USS Enterprise, the revolutionary aircraft carrier.

Image
The USS Enterprise wasn’t just in Star Trek. This aircraft carrier has sailed into history several times for the US Navy. And as a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, she changed the course of the US Navy forever – The first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier ever built carries one of the most famous names in flattop history: Enterprise. Designed as the nucleus of a nuclear-powered task force that could travel indefinitely without fuel replenishment, the USS Enterprise set the standard for all U.S. aircraft carriers to the present day. In August 1950 the chief of naval operations, Adm. Forrest Sherman, requested a feasibility study for nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. A shore-based nuclear reactor was built as a test, and based on the success of the so-called A1W reactor authorization, and funds for a nuclear carrier was approved in 1958. USS Enterprise was commissioned in November 1961. It was 1,123 feet long, the longest aircraft carrier ever built, and displaced 93,284 t...
