The SR-71 Blackbird was a long-range reconnaissance plane with remarkable performance characteristics: Mach 3 speed, and 85,000 service ceiling, and an 11,820 foot per minute rate of climb. The SR-71 was so fast that to evade surface-to-air missiles, the jet would simply accelerate to outrun missiles. But the SR-71 was also remarkably expensive to operate – which is why after the Cold War ended, Congress axed the Blackbird spy plane. Second Lieutenant John Bosko was flying his seventh mission on August 24, 1944. He was reasonably seasoned as far as bomber commanders went but was unaware of his target’s macabre reputation. His crew and machine from the 327th Bomb Squadron, 92nd Bomb Group, were en route to the well-defended Merseburg oil refineries in Germany’s heartland from their base in East Anglia. His plane was a veteran of almost 60 missions and had gone through all of them relatively undamaged. Snake Hips and her crew were about to be put to the ultimate test. As the 92nd Bomb Group made its run over the target, the flak bursts began to rattle Snake Hips until a loud explosion shook the aircraft. Whaoo! Due to its “smooth” flying, the A380 LANDING AIRBUS monster makes enemies appear threatening

This might be the smooth est Airbus A380 landing I have ever seen. Would be nice to know if the passengers even felt any kind of impact while touching down on runway 07L at Franfkurt. In addition I also filmed an Emirates Airbus A380 landing on ruwnay 23L at Düsseldorf on a wet runway this week which I also included in this video. Even though I fully understand the physics of how planes fly, it never ceases to amaze me how any of these big mothers can get off the ground. When we landed in Prague several years ago, the fog was so heavy we could barely see the runway after touchdown. Our landing was so smooth I wasn’t sure we were down until I felt the brakes applied. The whole cabin applauded the captain. My recommendation. For those who fly internationally, at least once in your flying days, book an airline that still flies the A380 before they all get retired. Turkey is showing off its fifth-generation “F-22” fighter while it is being constructed

Turkey will become the next country after the US, Russia, China, and South Korea to have its fifth-generation fighter jet. Turkey’s intentions for its fighter have been known for years, but for the first time, photos from the assembly line of the prototype being developed have been officially revealed. TF-X began its existence on the drawing board in 2010. The project became much more important for Turkey only two years ago. In 2020, Ankara rejected Washington’s offer to acquire Patriot air defense systems. Turkey turned its attention to Russia and, after several months of negotiations, decided to purchase the Russian S-400 air defense system. The CH-54 Tarhe, also called Skycrane or flying insect, was manufactured by Sikorsky. The nickname Skycrane derives from its heavy load cargo lifting mission. As for insect-it’s a nickname given by pilots for its ᴜпᴜѕᴜаɩ design. During the Vietnam Wαя this ⱱeгѕаtіɩe helicopter was used for various missions, including recovery, гeѕсᴜe, infantry transport, medісаɩ supply and even armor transport operations. The CH-54 helicopter is equipped with a crane in the center of the fuselage that is operated by a co-pilot or an engineer from the backside of the pilots’ cabin.
