France’s aircraft carrier fighter jet, the Rafale M, makes Russia perspire

Image
Rafale M: The Omnivorous “Omnirole” Fighter – “Flexibility is the key to airpower,” quoth the 20th century Italian airpower strategic Gen. Giulio Douhet (1869 – 1930), and this is a tenet that’s hammered into the heads of young aspiring U.S. Air Force officers early on during their training phases as cadets in the Air Force Academy and Reserve Officers Training Corps (AFROTC) or as as trainees at Officer Training School (OTS). However, ours isn’t the only nation’s air force to take Gen. Douhet’s dictum to heart. The French Air Force (Armée de l’air et de l’espace) and French Naval Aviation (Force maritime de l’aéronautique navale, or simply Aéronavale for short) alike are embodying the Douhet doctrine in the form of the Dassault Rafale “omnirole” (a fancy adjective for multirole) fighter. Let’s take a closer look at the Rafale, with a particular emphasis on the Rafale M naval variant. Omnivorous Omnirole The Dassault Rafale (literally meaning “gust of wind” and “burst o...

Look! This US-built, enormous aircraft carrier SHOCKED the world.

It’s a modern Nimitz, it’s not like a leap from Midway class to Forrestal. You can’t sink it. So why does it need so much protection. Because it can be sunk taken out of commission. As Tom Clancy pointed out, submarines are the primary threat. It even surrounds itself with sacrificial ships. The weapon capable of sinking an American aircraft carrier is the P-700 supersonic cruise missile of the Granit complex. In Russia, there are more advanced missiles, for example, Caliber or Zircon.Amy carrier , Light Carrier, normal ...

What Happens If a Pilot Can’t Touch Down on US Aircraft Carriers?

Image
Excellent with all the measures taken to make it extraordinarily clear and informative. For them, Business is Business . The leap forward in Science and Technology and its application in defense is astounding. Those aircraft carrier pilots are very well trained, BEFORE they are assigned to a carrier. They have practiced the short landing on the ground, they know hot to “bolter” of they miss one of the grab-cables, so very rarely is there a bad landing.  Of course if the aircraft has been in combat and has damage, they handle that too, the best way they know how.  It isn’t often that an aircraft landing goes off the deck, they prepare for that also, but should their damaged aircraft miss the cables and can’t bolter, there is a net that can be quickly spread across the opposite end of the carrier to catch them, because it’s always possible that an aircraft took damaging enemy fire and has any number of problems getting that bird safely on the deck!  But they are very good...

It was the Focke-Wulf Fw 190, a single-engine, single-seat fighter that was widely used by Germany during World wᴀʀ II. Along with the Messerchmitt Bf 109, the Focke Wulf 190 became the backbone of the Luftwaffe. Image The Fw 190 could perform a variety of roles – from fighter, bomber, to ground attack and torpedo bomber. Its maiden flight was on June 1, 1939, just a few months before World wᴀʀ 2 officially began. This was followed by an introduction in August 1941 with a combat debut in 1942. While German Luftwaffe examples managed an operational existence only to the end of the wᴀʀ in 1945, the Turkish Air Force – recipients of some Fw 190s from Germany during the conflict – flew their stock until 1949. The fastest Military helicopter is the Eurocopter X3. This Military helicopter is capable of flying at speeds of up to 487km/h. The X3 reached a level flight speed of 255 knots (472 km/h) over the south of France on June 7 2013. Only the A400M model from Airbus is not visually offensive

Image
The A400 was never intended for verticle capability. It was designed to have short field takeoff and landing. It is a very capable aircraft. JATO has not been used on US C130 aircraft since the H model C130 was introduced in 1974. The H model -15 engines create the same power as the E model s -7 engined aircraft with JATO. However, there are a few special model s that still use JATO, but they are few and highly specialized. Although I’m a big fan of the C130, I must admit that it’s starting to grow a bit in the teeth now and needs replacing. A400M is a perfect replacement. It is very similar in appearance to the A400 but with greatly improved performance in all aspects! I remember seeing it fly for the first time a few years ago and was absolutely amazed and impressed! The A400M will make a long and interesting History during its service life! The most interesting thing about the A400M is that it’s the only aircraft designed by Airbus that isn’t ugly. The A22...
