The renowned “Aerial Battle Monster” earned its moniker for not requiring refueling while in the air

Welcome back to Daily Aviation for a feature on one of the busiest strategic Military airlift aircraft designed to operate from virtually anywhere, exceeding 4 million total flight hours in 2021. Image Credit: US Air Force, The Daily Aviation.

As a loadmaster for 20 years, I have had the privilege of flying these wonderful planes. You’ve been to some great places around the world and some places where you wouldn’t send your worst enemy (yes, yes, you probably would). Some of the loads we used to carry might surprise most people.

C-17 Cargo 

I love watching the C-17 Cargo plane and it’s a great looking plane and can fly long distances without needing to refuel, and the F-15 Strike Eagle is also a great fighter and is still the BOSS when it comes to air dominance.

The US tests fighter jets equipped with laser weapons

The three largest aerospace companies in the world – Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Grumman Northrop – were contracted by the United States to build the most advanced laser s ever! The contract is mainly centered around laser s that could be mounted on fighter jets but ground-based and sea-based versions have been developed too. Now, testing has commenced and the results are quite outstanding! However, other countries aren’t to be left behind as they’ve come forward with impressive developments of their own. In fact, Japan, Spain, and Canada have also contracted Lockheed Martin to develop their laser weapon s. And so the race to the most lethal Laser Directed Energy Weapon is underway!
